Join Rebecca Cherry and musical friends on a journey through time discovering popular Jewish and Classical Jewish themes collected through the centuries. You will be led through an exciting musical experience of lush melodies and sound for Violin and Piano, transporting you to Israel, Europe and North America.
Rebecca recorded “Remembrances,” in her hometown of Vancouver, BC, with Temple Sholom. The curated program of mostly Jewish, Classical music was intended for contemplation and meditation, to lift one’s heart and stir the emotions. The CD was widely received and she has since expanded her Jewish repertoire, offering additional programs for performance. Rebecca’s goal is to provide Jewish music and culture through her performances to enhance and enrich the lives of your community, congregants and organization members.
Ms. Cherry grew up in a Jewish home in Vancouver, Canada. Her rich Jewish upbringing inspired her to create a beautiful CD of Jewish themed Classical music for her Synagogue, Temple Shalom with her mother and pianist, Joyce Cherry. Since her early childhood, Rebecca has been surrounded with the music of her Jewish heritage and started playing with the family Klezmer Band before the age of 10. Her involvement in Jewish music led her to perform with many diverse Jewish groups such as Divahn, Galeet Dardashti, and the Israeli singer Noa, for her North American tour in 2013. In October 2014 & 2016, Ms Cherry was invited to perform some pieces from her CD, "Remembrances" at the United Nations as part of the "Spirit of the UN: Dynamics of Ethical and Spiritual Sustainability – Embracing the New Era".
